SECRETARIES REPORT 2022
It has been an interesting year, making a lot of progress on the projects that we set ourselves for the past year
We will be happy to provide all relevant information and documentation.
I will be proposing, at the AGM, that we move to involve the Media and Press as the feeling is that we are being deliberately ignored and stonewalled and feel that the authorities do not have a true understanding of what is occurring in our type of housing.
There are many operations that make every effort to comply but there are many more that do not, including Local Government.
I personally have had several meetings at various parks/villages and these have resulted in lodgments at SACAT or the management has rectified problems in line with the Residential Parks Act.
Please do not hesitate to contact your representative, committee member or on our website for information.

It has been an interesting year, making a lot of progress on the projects that we set ourselves for the past year
- Promotions and benefits to members have increased and been financially successful, these include insurance through Elders, and the "on line" purchase of quality spectacle's from Four Eyes Optical. There are other savings being negotiated by Anthony Taylor and we thank him for his efforts
- Geoff Cann, editor of the magazine, website and data manager has been busy throughout the year. Just remember that you, the members not just the committee can submit articles and information to Geoff
- I thank all committee members for their support.
- We have had multiple cases put before the South Australian Civil Affairs Tribunal(SACAT) with the majority successful for those members that lodged with SARPRA's assistance. Not one matter has been lost, but a couple have been dismissed with no decision, however, some may be resubmitted after we obtain advice from volunteer legal services. You can read most cases on this website as the majority of proponents have agreed to having their matters published, once finalised. There are still outstanding matters to be heard
- Decisions made by SACAT have solved several problems and resulted in changes in agreements and are now law.
i.e., Community facilities contribution, documentation/administration fees that were charged when a resident sold their home. - We are still in the process of negotiating the following changes to the Residential Parks Act
- No deferred payments of any type
- The adoption of the Consumer & Business Services (CBS) Standard Lease Agreement
- A standard rent increase formular.
We will be happy to provide all relevant information and documentation.
